Gary had written their getaway on the calendar as a convention. Sheila knew what was up, but Gary was still trying to warm Malcolm up to the idea. This had been an idea of Mrs. Monarch, as they both knew how he could be. Malcolm had long come to terms with the fact Gary needed a few days off now and then, which were usually conventions or game nights. These things he only bitched a little about.

It wasn't so much that he wanted to keep Gary inside, as much as he was still healing from a very serious injury and was basically stuck on the couch while his wife and partner were gone. Sheila was supposed to have this weekend off too, but one never knew. Gary had stopped to make sure Malcolm was comfortable and had the remotes and a drink before he headed out.

The drive was only a few hours, and only a few spots of bad traffic, there were offers to switch drivers and such and talks to kill the drive time. It was nice to just be on the road with her, most things were nice with Harley. Getting to keep a hand on her thigh now and then, was just a bonus.

When they arrived, it was a small little Bohemian looking house right on the water front. A fire pit and other fun things filled the small yard leading to the water. It was two bedrooms, but with the guild discount, it was a pretty sweet deal. Once the car was off, Gary stepped out, stretching his arms over his head to pop his troublesome shoulder. "Looks better than the pictures described." He spoke, looking back to her amused. He wasn't worried about the luggage yet, wanting to make sure she was okay with the place first.
