[ Harley didn't even bother trying to find the tie. That thing was gone forever. She went over to help with his hair, doing some Hot Girl Magic with a braid and a twist that kept itself up. It would stay out of his face as long as he didn't shake his head. ]

Cute! How's that feel?

[ It was gone to wherever socks that get lost in the dryer go.

He did stay still while she fixed his hair, looking at the big mirror on the wall he made a face like he wasn't sure, but then shrugged. ]

Feels good, like it will stay out of my face.

[ And if someone made fun of them, he'd punch someone. It's fine.]

[ She smiled and kissed the side of his neck, then pulled her shirt on. ]

You ready for our first date?

[ He was grinning like a fool when she kissed the side of his neck. Sitting on the edge of the bed to tie his sneakers. Looking up at her looking pleased.]

Dude, is the sky blue? Of course, I am! This is so cool!

[ once his shoes are tied he stands ready to wait for her to finish getting ready if she needed more time. Otherwise it was time to head out.]

[ Harley finished getting ready, taking some time to admire her fresh hickey in the mirror, before joining him by the door and taking his arm. ]

Is it like... allowed to be this easy? Feels like we're getting away with something.

[ Seeing her admire the mark he left, sure made him feel a way. He could so get used to this.

When she took his arm he double-checked for the keycard and lead them on out towards the elevator.]


I don't see why not, I mean we're gonna disagree and fight eventually, but, as long as we make up, it should totally be fine.

[ He's not dumb enough to think they won't fight, hell even him and 24 had a few rows. It would happen, but he just hoped it was never bad enough to not forgive once tempers cooled down.]

[ She waggled her eyebrows at him and then slid a hand into his back pocket. Absolute peak obnoxious couple in public. ]

Let's save that for a real fight, but making up sounds so cool.

[ He tried and failed not to flush a little when she slipped her hand into his pocket. He didn't mind the pda. Poor old lady also waiting for the elevator.

At least Chili's was next door.]

[ She leaned her head on his shoulder and squeezed his butt through the pocket. ]

We can pretend we fought and get to make up.

[ She should be proud, Gary only jolted a little when she squeezed his ass. Not even enough to dislodge her.

That old woman stuck in the elevator was certainly looking with disdain.]

Hey, I'll try anything once, Harley. Why not?

[ The old lady should be so lucky! Maybe if she stopped judging, she'd be inspired to go find a love of her own. But in the meantime, the harder she disapproved the more Harley played it up. If she didn't look away soon Gary might be getting another hand job. ]

It's been a really long time since someone took me on a date without an ulterior motive.

[ Gary was ignoring the old woman since he was used to people staring at him and other members of the horde. Both with and without the judging. Those butterfly suits get a lot of looks.

The old lady wasn't impressed, the more Harley played it up the more she rolled her eyes until she took out her phone to try and ignore them.]

Well, that's so changing, starting now. I'll take you out anytime you want, even if it might not always be classy, it will always be wicked fun, dude.

[ The Old lady scoffed when he called Harley dude, but the door was already opening and she was leaving as well but another direction.]

[ Harley wrapped her arms around him and dragged him into a kiss long enough that they missed the chance to get off the elevator and she had to hot the button again. ]

[ Gary didn't even have a chance to respond before she drug him into that long kiss.

Both hands resting on her hips at least until they had to part for her to press the button. Another kiss pressed to her cheek when she pressed the button. ]

This is such an epic day, total win!

[ Harley kissed him again and dragged him with her through the doors when they slid open again, or else the two of them might never get off the elevator. ]

Stop being cute or we'll never get to dinner!

[ As soon as she drug him off the elevator, his eyes went wide.]

Oh! Dude, one second, I left my book over there.

[ The chair he had waited for her in had a thick Vault of Horror graphic novel still sitting on it. At least it was only a step or two away from her to grab it, then back to her to head on outside.]

[ At least the interruption was enough to break the endless cycle of smooching. Harley took his arm as they walked next door to the Chili's and they read comics together, her pressed against his side while he turned the pages, until a table was free.

When they were seated, she started playing footsie under the table. ]

You're my boyfriend now.

[ The distraction helped, and he didn't lose his book. All in all a win. He enjoyed sitting with her reading over it. Probably explaining some of the characters here and there.

He played footsie back with her once they were seated. The book sat on the seat next to him as he looked over the menu. Looking up, he grinned again. That clearly hadn't struck him yet despite all they had done and said. ]

Oh my god! You're my girlfriend now. This is so cool, Harley, you're so awesome!

[ Harley reached across the table for his hand. ]

Oh thank God, it woulda sucked if we weren't on the same page there.

I should have asked properly, but it's always kind of lame in movies. Plus I didn't know if you would say no.

[ He admitted, but when she reached for his hand, he held hers in return. That grin so wasn't fading anytime soon. The waitress better be prepared.]

So, since I'm a novice at this, any rules I should know, dude?

[ Obviously no cheating, but he's sure there's more. ]

[ She tipped her head and looked a little puzzled. ]

Not really now, but before? I don't know. It just seemed possible, you're so cool, and while I think I am cool, I am nowhere near your level. I love you and am glad we always get to spend time together, but before today? Kinda. That's not on you, I still sometimes think of myself the way I used to be.

[ Here's that nervous habit of babbling showing itself. But he squeezed her hand as he spoke, a silent show that he wanted to keep her hand in his.

Now was his turn to look puzzled.]

Well, yeah that, but like what you expect dude. Things like loyalty, which, duh. But, I don't know, don't leave the seat up? [ Gary should have thought that one out too, but he wanted to make sure they had a good foundation. ]

[ Harley listened to him babble with a thoughtful expression. ]

Before now... If you'd asked right after the first time we fucked I would have said no. I would've assumed you were just carried away with the afterglow, and I was still working through the end of everything with Joker. And then there was in Corto Maltese.

The night you came over and we got take out and played Smash. I would have said yes then, but ... I don't think it would have worked. I would have treated you like a rebound.

Tonight is the first time we've had a real shot at this.

[ Gary nodded as she spoke. It all made sense. At least their order was probably already in, otherwise a waitress is walking over to a interesting talk.]

I mean, before you went away, it didn't even seem possible. Plus, I didn't even realize I loved you yet any of those times. [ A small breath taken.]

And, while I probably wouldn't have minded being a rebound, but it would have totally ruined our friendship, I think. I so don't want to happen, it would be wicked disappointing. Even if we break up sometime, I still want us to be able to be friends. I'll always be there for you, dude.

[ Easier said at the start, but he liked to think it was possible. Not that he wanted to think much on it. ]
